We believe that the gas infrastructure is a mechanism that can make an efficient contribution towards a low carbon European economy. Effective cooperation with other European gas infrastructure companies offers the greatest opportunities for being able to achieve this. In 2012, together with the Danish company Energinet.dk and the Belgian company Fluxys, we set out our joint intention of making our national gas transport networks completely CO2 neutral by 2050. This will involve exchanging know-how, exploring the potential for joint demonstration projects and taking the initiative for achieving a properly functioning market for renewable gas certificates in North Europe. There has been interest from other gas infrastructure companies who want to take part in our initiative and support the development of a sustainable European economy. We can only achieve a cleaner energy future by working effectively with each other. Gasunie is focussing in the first instance on green gas, power-to-gas and small-scale LNG as favourable routes.
