I have a lot of freedom in my job. The maintenance work and the projects that I look after are entrusted entirely to me. I do the work on my own or in a team, with coaching from my coordinator where necessary.
Your most important duties as an installation technician are maintenance of all the equipment on the installation, rectifying faults and supervising projects. When you are supervising projects, you are the point of contact for contractors and you are responsible for ensuring safety at all times while the job is being done. Safety is extremely important in our company!
Before you start a job, a safety work permit is drawn up, in which we set out clear agreements to make sure that safe working practices are followed.
Gasunie offers a two-year training pathway that you follow during working hours to improve your technical knowledge. The programme covers theory and practice. The courses I personally have learned a lot from included electrical engineering and metering and control technology. You also get official diplomas for these courses which are nationally recognised. If you want to improve your knowledge even more, it is possible to take other courses such as professionally oriented higher education courses.
To sum up: you have a lot of freedom in how you do your work on a day-to-day basis, whether you are working on your own or in a team. You have all this and a very pleasant atmosphere at work!
