Willemien Terpstra
Willemien Terpstra is chairman of the board and Chief Executive Officer. She was appointed from 1 March 2024 for a four-year term.
Willemien Terpstra (Hallum, 1970) studied business administration at Nyenrode Business University and obtained her MBA from Emory University in Atlanta (USA).
She started her career at Arco Chemical (a predecessor of LyondellBasell) in Rotterdam and held numerous senior management positions at various business units within the international group. In her last position, as Global Vice President Decarbonisation, she was responsible for sustainability, energy conservation and CO2 reduction of LyondellBasell's global operations.
