Gasunie joins European alliance for clean hydrogen: Bankability Playbook launched
News article
Gasunie has joined the European Resilience Alliance for Clean Hydrogen & Derivatives. The alliance brings together CEOs from across the European hydrogen value chain to strengthen Europe’s energy resilience, industrial competitiveness and decarbonisation through clean hydrogen. On 26 October, the Alliance launched the Clean Hydrogen Value Chain Bankability Playbook.
Clean hydrogen has an important role to play in building a secure, competitive and resilient Europe. It can reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels while supporting the decarbonisation of sectors where direct electrification is difficult.
Gasunie is working to develop the hydrogen network in the Netherlands, with connections to neighbouring countries. But pipelines alone do not create a hydrogen market. International cooperation is essential to unlock investment and enable the market to develop.
The European Resilience Alliance brings together CEOs from across the European hydrogen value chain, providing a unique platform for coordinated industry action. By bringing together key players across borders and sectors, the Alliance helps to identify bottlenecks, better align policy with economic realities, and accelerate investment decisions.
From hydrogen ambition to investment
On 26 October, the Alliance launched the Clean Hydrogen Value Chain Bankability Playbook. The Playbook sets out what is needed to make hydrogen projects investable and accelerate the development of Europe’s clean hydrogen market.
More information and the full Bankability Playbook are available on the European Resilience Alliance website.
