Network companies Alliander, Enexis, Stedin and Gasunie will steer towards 'broad prosperity' over the next four years. Together, we want to make our role in the energy transition more sustainable and social. We will ensure that in addition to financial value, values such as biodiversity, climate, health and wellbeing are also taken into account as standard in investment decisions and procurement. In addition to financial accounts, we will publish annual social accounts showing our impact on social, human and natural value. By working together, we learn from each other as infrastructure companies and make faster progress towards broad prosperity.

The Impact Economy Foundation (IEF), which promotes a sustainable economy, is guiding the collaboration. IEF director Werner Schouten: "We see more and more organisations reporting extensively on their own impact on society. But reporting alone does not change the world. To achieve a fundamentally sustainable economy, it is essential that we make values such as health, climate, biodiversity and fair wages chefsache in all our decisions, in addition to financial value. This cooperation is going to set an example in that by embedding social, human and natural value in the steering of the organisations."

During the four-year partnership, we not only aim to steer towards broad prosperity within our own organisations, but Alliander, Enexis, Stedin and Gasunie are also committed to making 'broad prosperity' a central concept in entrepreneurial Holland. "The goal of a company should be to solve societal challenges and contribute to welfare and quality of life. We therefore want to make broad welfare a guiding principle in entrepreneurial Netherlands. Such a change can only come about with the involvement of other sectors. Therefore, we are happy to invite other sectors to join us," Schouten said.

IEF will act as coordinator of the collaboration and contribute with expertise on the impact economy, impact entrepreneurship and impact management. NGinfra, an existing partnership between infrastructure managers, will provide the connection to science within the collaboration.
