The project aims to establish an open-access and scalable CO₂ infrastructure, between the Rotterdam CCS hub and storage sites in the UK Southern North Sea, enabling the safe transport and permanent storage of captured carbon dioxide CO₂. The project is positioned to support long-term volume growth and complement more mature CCS infrastructure projects, such as Aramis, as additional transport and storage capacity becomes required. The project scope accommodates different technical development options, which provides a pragmatic basis for future investment decisions, taking into account factors such as market demand, transport capacity, access to storage sites, cost and implementation timelines. Its phased development approach allows for a pragmatic and feasible route towards future investment decisions, in which the available transport capacity can grow in line with market demand, This creates a flexible and cost-effective pathway towards large-scale carbon management.

Starting from the Rotterdam CCS hub and crossing the North Sea towards the United Kingdom, Located in the Dutch North Sea and connected to key industrial clusters, Net Zero Frontier would connect industrial clusters in Europe with multiple potential storage sites in the UK Southern North Sea. The project builds on Gasunie’s offshore expertise and explores synergies with existing and planned CO₂ infrastructure, including the Delta Rhine Corridor and Aramis. By creating an additional transport route and access to a diversified portfolio of storage sites, the project aims to strengthen the resilience and flexibility of the emerging Northwest European CO₂ network, thereby enhancing European industrial competitiveness. builds on existing offshore expertise and infrastructure. • Developing and connecting an offshore pipeline(s) to a distribution hub, from which multiple stores can be accessed
• Unlocking additional storage capacity in the North Sea at competitive conditions
